Expert witness services

Written expert witness reports

Keith prepares independent reports addressing the questions put to him by counsel, defendants, or plaintiffs, in the form required by Part 11 of the BC Supreme Court Civil Rules.

Each report sets out (Rules 11-2 and 11-6)

  • The expert's name, address and area of expertise
  • Qualifications, employment and educational experience in that area
  • The instructions provided in relation to the proceeding
  • The nature of the opinion sought and the issues it relates to
  • The opinion on those issues
  • The reasons: factual assumptions, research conducted, and a list of every document relied on
  • Certification of the expert's duty to assist the Court, and signature

Expert consultation

Review of facts, typically by telephone, to help identify the issues in a matter and decide whether a written report is needed.

Responding to expert reports

An independent review of an opposing expert's report on professional-practice issues.

Court testimony

Attendance at Court to give evidence on the opinions in the report, consistent with his duty to assist the Court.
